Faith and Police Together Event

Deputy Chief Constable Paul Netherton of Devon & Cornwall Police has issued an invitation to all lead police chaplains in the UK to attend a conference on the subject of "Faith and Police Together" to be held at the College of Policing at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry, on Wednesday 19th June 2019 between 10am and 4pm.

The intended audience will comprise neighbourhood and community leaders, together with faith leaders from every police force. The threefold purpose of the day is:

  1. to highlight the power and potential social capital within faith communities in helping to reduce policing demand through their ongoing prevention and intervention work;
  2. to encourage local policing teams to routinely engage with the faith communities and not just when emergency disaster relief situations occur;
  3. to help broaden thinking about the potential for faith communities to contribute towards social cohesion.

Those attending will hear from some inspirational organisations, whose initiatives are helping to make a real difference in helping to tackle addiction, gang violence, and more.

The College of Policing has kindly agreed to sponsor this event so no charge will be made for attending, but places are limited, so early booking is advised to avoid disappointment. Lunch will be provided and prior notification of any special dietary needs would be appreciated. Please complete and return the attached booking form by Monday 3rd June, using the contact details supplied on the form itself.
